Could Wes Bentley Be the New Batman?

Getting to be the new Batman seems to be the quest du jour for Hollywood’s hottest actors.

Tyler Hoechlin (MTV’s Teen Wolf) is already in the mix as a possibility to play the Caped Crusader opposite Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel in the forthcoming sequel sequel to his blockbuster reboot.

And now, according to Web rumblings, so is comeback kid Wes Bentley.

The Hunger Games actor is once again a viable and exciting option, now that he has taken care of himself and worked through his past substance abuse.

He has parts in Lovelace, in an upcoming Terrence Malick film, and in a new film about Abraham Lincoln, and he has been cast in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. Plus, he is leading the new Ryan Murphy joint for HBO.

So Bentley is definitely having a moment buoyed by a warm industry welcome-back-kid reception. The leap to Batman shouldn’t be so great, from the looks of it.
