Yeah, people have been leaking her music as of late, but the singer all but went an issued a four-alarmer after an 11-second snippet of her first ARTPOP single “Applause” hit the Web over the weekend.
Which she followed today with an equally tame – not! – reaction: a pushing up of the song’s release date by a week. She described the situation on Twitter as a veritable “POP MUSIC EMERGENCY.”
Get a hold of yourself, girl. Charity – and finding out who is giving away your s--- – begins at home. I know you are trying to be funny and whatnot, but, y’ know...ya just comin’ off a little loud and desperate.
Speaking of, here’s “Applause,” which is neither a musical shower nor a grower, IMHO (and, hey, at least now we have a little more time to become familiar with the tune before you perform the song at the MTV Video Music Awards in a couple of weeks):
I like the part in which Mother Monster says she lives for the applause (applause, applause), but the rest sounds like a mess to me.
I feel like Carrie during one of her first phone conversations with Petrovsky on Sex and the City: Sir...I cannot understand you.
And I, clearly, speak English.
