Alas, it will be another man who will fill Matt Smith’s shoes as the new Time Lord on Doctor Who, and that man will be Peter Capaldi.
The BBC made the announcement that the Scottish actor will be taking over the TARDIS on a TV special earlier today that featured a proverbial passing of the torch from number Eleven Smith to the Twelfth Doctor.
A Doctor Who 50th anniversary special – featuring Smith, if memory serves – will air in the U.K. in November, and I presume Capaldi will make his grand debut next year.
