Aaron Cross Will Return

Last we saw Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross in last summer The Bourne Legacy, he and Rachel Weisz’s Dr. Marta Shearing were – Spoiler Alert! – fresh off a deadly motorcycle chase, escape-sailing off the coast of the Philippines, wishing they were lost.

Well those two ain’t gonna stay that way for long.

Universal Pictures is moving forward with a follow-up to the pair’s (mis)adventures – a second Bourne quite possibly sans Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne.

The hope remains that one day both characters will meet on screen. However, Damon won’t return to the franchise without director Paul Greengrass, who helmed the sequel and the threequel.

Finally saw The Bourne Legacy recently. I liked it just fine, in spite of its kinda-perplexing ending. So I am looking forward to seeing Renner & Co. develop their arc, which feels unfinished and is worthy of continuation (smart move placing his action parallel to the last time we saw Bourne).

Hope things work out and that maybe by the sixthquel Bourne and Cross can play together. That would be som’in’ to see.
