The Mud actress is set to produce and star in the best-selling adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s memoir, which chronicles that which she encountered as she – still mourning the loss of her mother and the failure of her marriage – took on a 1,100-mile hike from the Mojave Desert up the Pacific Crest Trail to Washington State.
Oscar-nominated author Nick Hornby (An Education) is adapting the book for the screen.
