River Runs Through Miami

Once upon a time, River Phoenix coulda written his own ticket in Hollywood – the up-and-comer interrupted was pick o’ the litter back in the early-’90s.

But Phoenix had his demons, and they came a-callin’ in 1993 when the actor infamously overdosed outside The Viper Room.

He left a void in the Tinseltown landscape and on the set of the movie was working on before he died, Dark Blood, a thriller about a couple (Jonathan Pryce and Judy Davis) that comes across Phoenix’s predatorial character after their car breaks down in the desert somewhere.

This many years later, the project will finally see the light of day when it premieres at the Miami International Film Festival in March.

First the Miami Rhapsody reunion and now this? Pretty cool!
