Before B goes and performs at Super Bowl XLVII next month, though, she’s gonna go perform for President Barack Obama.
Again.
You’ll remember she memorably performed “At Last” for the president and his wife Michelle in 2009....
Anyway and indeed, Beyoncé will be among the acts helping the Obamas celebrate a second term in office. She will sing the national anthem this time around, while Kelly Clarkson has been asked to take on “My Country ’Tis of Thee” and James Taylor on “America the Beautiful” as Obama marks his second swearing-in on Jan. 21.
And now, in the part the news that fills me with pride, Richard Blanco, a fellow FIU Panther, will be the 2013 inaugural poet, and, thus, the youngest-ever poet tapped for the honor, as well as the first Hispanic or gay man to recite a poem at the ceremony.
Which excites me to end because it sends a clear message of...hope, for these two communities are forces to be reckoned with, and they will be part of the conversation moving forward. Change is a-comin’, America, and this choice, based on quality, of course, has to change as much. It has to. I choose to be believe it does.
Have fun later this month, Mr. President. And then get to work on ensuring America gets back on track, for the people and with all its peoples.

Update 1: I knew it!
Apropos of Beyoncé’s schedule, her Destiny sisters will join her on stage at the Super Bowl!
Update 2: Click here to find out what other acts will partake in the Inaugural. Here’s a hint: One is a girl who’s on fire, another thinks we all are a firework, and then there’s this guy who’ll make you wanna.
