B at the Super Bowl?

How do you top having Madonna headline the halftime show if you’re the Super Bowl brass?

Well, you don’t.

But you try.

So for 2013, the powers that be are turning to Beyoncé, who is reportedly locked to provide the centerpiece entertainment at the Feb. 3 game in New Orleans.

The NFL isn’t confirming what is, at this point, just a rumor, but the organization is expected to make an announcement tomorrow.

I smell a Destiny’s Child reunion a-cookin’. With a little Jay-Z thrown in for good “Crazy in Love”/’03 Bonnie and Clyde measure. And a lot of fun.

Bring it, B!

Update: The proverbial cat is out of the bag: Beyoncé is performing at Super Bowl XLVII.

The singer herself confirmed the news like only she could: via her blog, with a beyond-glam pic of herself for which she wore eyeblack with the game’s date on it.
