Not Into Poaching

Tom Hardy is so anti-poaching.

So are Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire, btw, with whom Hardy already is working on a movie on the subject based on an idea he had that was inspired by the work that some of his real-life, non-Hollywood friends are doing in Africa .

First things first, though. The Dark Knight Rises baddie has lined up a second project that tackles the illegal industry, this one as a starring vehicle for himself.

The trio would be producing both movies.

But let’s focus on the news of the more recent project, an untitled story about a former Special Forces soldier who falls in love with Zimbabwe and pledges to help train rangers to fight off the poachers who are decimating the land’s rhino and elephant populations.

This movie seems to be moving a bit faster than that other one, which is hoped to have a Traffic-like vibe to it: Sheldon Turner, the screenwriter of Up in the Air, is already at work on a script.
