Ladies with a Funny Attitude

Everything you can do, Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler can do better.

After three years of leaning on the acerbic Brit with the wit, the powers behind the Golden Globes have chosen the funny-lady BFF duo as the hosts of their upcoming 2013 ceremony.

No doubt, the SNL MVPS will be...ahem...more palatable for the sensitive sensibilities of the starry audience at the Beverly Hilton and those watching at home – but, rest assured, they are not to be trifled with. They will bring it.

I mean, It would be a fool’s errand to underestimate them because they are women: their chemistry is explosive. And I can’t wait to see what sly ways they come up with to stick it to Hollywood a bit.

Unlike Gervais, though, they are more likely to laugh with the crowd than just at the crowd. And they might just help rehab the Golden Globes’ image as more than the hand-greasing contest Gervais made clear he thought it was.

The awards show is set to air on NBC on Jan. 13, the home of Fey’s 30 Rock and Poehler’s Park and Recreation. (Good move, Peacock! Wink, wink.)
