Bookish Girl

Lena Dunham has taken on film and the tube as a multi-hyphenate who writes, directs, produces, and stars in her own terrific stuff, and now she’s taking on the publishing world.

The main Girl on HBO’s Girls is eyeing the dotted line on a million-dollar book deal to release a modern-day version of Helen Gurley Brown’s famous 1962 advice book Sex and the Single Girl.

Dunham’s tome, titled Not That Kind of Girl, would be published next year, since, you know, this year is almost all done and over with, so go add it to your Amazon.com Wish List, people.

Update 1: Oh, well, good for her.

A bidding war reportedly has erupted over Dunham’s book, and the actress could be getting almost $4 million for the thing.

Guess the iron is hotter than we thought.

Update 2: Girl’s scored! Random House reportedly has gotten the book...and Dunham will get something north of $3.5 million for her work.

Is this a suspect time to say I want her to be my new BFF?
