With Her Eye on a Little Gucci

That long-gestating movie about the Gucci empire and that family’s murderous scandal is getting a shot of vida.

Penélope Cruz is in talks to star in Gucci, the story of the individuals at the core of the iconic Italian fashion house.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Angelina Jolie’s names were attached to the project a few years ago, but, obviously, nothing came of that.

Things are different now, though.

Jordan Scott, the daughter of Ridley Scott, is set to direct the feature revolving around the 1995 murder of the brand’s founder’s grandson Maurizio, for which his ex, Patrizia, was imprisoned.

I think Cruz would do well in such a turn...but I bet the fashion house wouldn’t be dressing her should she have to work the awards circuit if the movie’s any good.
