A preview of Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac hit the Web last week. It’s a scene from “Chapter 1: The Compleat Angler” – the film has eight chapters; the scene features Jamie Bell – and it shows a younger version of Charlotte Gainsbourg’s self-diagnosed-nympho character experimenting with a friend on board a train.
But not experimenting that way.
The two girls are...daring each other to...meet strangers on the train. Meet them like that: Fast Mile Club-style.
Nymphomaniac has yet to secure distribution in the United States.
Where is...a non-Jew film exec when you need him? I can only imagine von Trier hasn’t yet lived down his infamous I-understand-Hitler non-sequitur at Cannes from a couple of years ago.
