Jeff Daniels stars in the buzzed-about indie, as a struggling novelist who never really grew up.

Just as his wife (Lisa Kudrow) is becoming increasingly frustrated by his antics, he meets a local teenager (Emma Stone) who’s been forced into early adulthood.

Together, the man and the young woman form an unlikely bond that eases both of their growing pains, and helps him regain his motivation to write. Reynolds plays Captain Excellent, the writer’s imaginary superhero friend who wants to prove he is still essential to his life and process:
