The Emmy winner is thisclose to a deal to be featured on the Mike Colter-starring Luke Cage, Marvel’s third series for Netflix.
Woodard may be playing Minetta, a beyond-powerful woman in her city’s local politics who exercises tremendous influence on Luke Cage...or, maybe, she is taking on the role of Black Mariah, a professional criminal/drug dealer and a nemesis to Luke Cage and Iron Fist, who, btw, is also getting a show on the streamer.
Colter and Luke Cage will be introduced on Netflix’s upcoming A.K.A. Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter. In case you don’t know, Luke Cage is a wrongly accused man who escapes prison to become a superhero for hire after an experiment that doesn’t quite work out the way it was expected to grants him strength that is super.
