So Wanted (After All)

After trying to take TV by storm with an ill-fated Wonder Woman project a few years ago, Adrianne Palicki totally scored last fall when she joined the sophomore season of TV’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Bobbi Morse, a.k.a. Mockingbird.

The move resulted in a win-win for her and for the show, which really came into its own with her in it. Coincidence? Maybe.

Still, though, the formula seemed to have worked, so it came as a complete surprise to hear, as the last TV season was winding down last spring, that ABC, which airs the show, had been mulling buying into Marvel’s idea for a spin-off centering on Bobbi Morse and her bickering ex, Lance Hunter (played by the studlicious Nick Blood). It was to be a sort of a Marvelous Mr. & Mrs. Smith-type o’ thing, you see....

ABC originally passed on the gamble – until now.

Indeed, the Alphabet Network has ordered a pilot for Marvel’s Most Wanted, starring Palicki and Blood. The project won’t go immediately, though, so you will be seeing the characters this fall.

Here’s to hoping this doesn’t F up Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or change our appreciation of Bobbi and Hunter.
