I’m talking about the trailer for the eagerly awaited Furious 7.
Of course, as you more than likely know, the seventh entry in the successful Fast & Furious franchise was delayed in the wake of Paul Walker’s death last fall. The movie was supposed to open earlier this year, following the ridikolous hit that was Fast & Furious 6; it will finally see the light of day in April.
The just-released preview followed a sort of town hall that was broadcast live from E! today, with Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, and franchise newcomer Jason Statham on hand to talk about the blockbuster, which also will feature Djimon Hounsou and Kurt Russell. It opens with an insane stunt that needs to be seen to be believed, and really celebrates Walker and his Brian O’Conner character.
Check it out:
Plot-wise, the big take-away is Statham will be playing Ian Shaw, the revenge-seeking brother of Owen Shaw (Luke Evans), the villain from the preview movie. So Dom and Brian & Co. are really gonna have their work cut out for themselves.
Furious 7 is due out on April 3.
