Time to Trainspot Again

I’ve never been to the SXSW Film Festival.

Came close once, but no enchilada.

But I pay attention.

And this year, the biggest takeaway from the festival has been that director Danny Boyle is working on a sequel to Ewan McGregor’s starmaker, Trainspotting.

At last.

“This has been a long time coming,” said the Slumdog Millionaire Academy Award winner. “There’s always been this longterm plan for Trainspotting 2 [which planned for a 2016 shoot and will be based on Porno, author Irvine Welsh’s own follow-up] if John [Hodge, Boyle’s longtime collaborator who wrote the original, as well as A Life Less Ordinary and The Beach for the director] can produce a decent-enough script.

I don’t think there will be any barriers to Ewan or any of the cast coming back. I think they’ll wanna know that the parts are good so they don’t feel like they are letting anyone down.

Sounds sensible. Now do it!
