And, no, he’s not CGI-playing the volcano itself. Yes, the disaster movie is being directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil), but it actually has a plot and a proper human antagonist.
Kit Harington (HBO’s Game of Thrones) is starring as a 79 A.D. slave who is stuck on a ship, dying to get to Pompeii in time to save both his BFF, a gladiator who is trapped in the coliseum, and his one true love (Emily Browning), the daughter of his master (Jared Harris, from TV’s Fringe and Mad Men).
Sutherland will portray...the Roman senator who enslaved and bound them all to his will.
It is a long way from 24 territory, but, hey – a gig is a gig.
