Jack Ryan’s Back

Star Trek star Chris Pine’s bringing the the late Tom Clancy’s beloved action hero Jack Ryan back this holiday season, kids.

The first trailer for Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is the evidence.

Last embodied by Ben Affleck in 2002’s The Sum of All Fears, Pine’s take on the heroic CIA analyst will very much live in a post-9/11 America, an America in which he discovers a Russian plot to undermine the U.S. economy.

The movie co-stars Keira Knightley, Kevin Costner, and Kenneth Branagh, who also appears on screen as the villain of the whole thing.
