First Maleficent, Next Up Cruella de Vil?

That Maleficent was such a little setter of trends.

I say that because, since Disney decided to make a live-action origin-story movie about the Sleeping Beauty baddie starring Angelina Jolie, it seems the studio wants to do the same with another one of its most famous antagonists.

Indeed, Disney is mulling over a similar treatment based on the fabulously evil Cruella de Vil, the bitch in 101 Dalmatians.

Of course, the wicked Ms. de Vil already was played, deliciously, by Glenn Close, in 1996 and 2000, so the question becomes who could follow up and improve on that terrific turn.
