The YouTubes Are Coming

These days, everyone and their mother seems to hand out awards – so, of course, YouTube would want to get in on the action.

YouTube is only like, this massive beast of a site that is used pretty much everywhere on Earth.

Anyway, the powers that be figured they would launch their own awards show, and so they are. The nominees for the first annual YouTube Music Awards will be announced on Oct. 17 (there will be six categories), while the first show is slated to take place in New York on Nov. 3.

Winners will be chosen by the streamer’s viewers.

Eminem and Lady GaGa are already part of the roster of performers, and Jason Schwartzman will host the affair, which Imma go and guess will air on...YouTube, natch.
