As James Brown

Fresh off from starring role as Jackie Robinson in the spring hit 42, Chadwick Boseman better be ready to feel good now.

The up-and-comer has nabbed the coveted role of James Brown in Get On Up, the forthcoming biopic that Tate Taylor is set to helm.

Further, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer have come on board the project, which will reunite them with their cutie-patootie Help director. The former will play Brown’s mother Susie, who was 16 when she had the future Godfather of Soul, while the latter will take on the part of his essential Aunt Honey.

Get On Up is set to arrive in theaters next October.
