Desert Hombre

Gael García Bernal is on a funk to work with up-and-comer directors.

The Mexican star it not only headlining Jon Stewart’s directorial debut Rosewater, he also is going to appear in Jonás Cuarón’s Spanish-language Desierto, in the role of Moises.

The project – Cuarón’s helming follow-up to 2007’s Year of the Nail – will revolve around a drunk American who decides to act as a vigilante down at the American-Mexican border, a decision that ends up endangering the lives of two immigrants trying to make their way into the United States.

Right on.

Now excuse me while I go see Gravity, which Cuarón co-wrote with his father, the great Alfonso, OKRRR.
