If You Can Make It There

I think any week that brings me two chances for Liam Hemsworth mentions is a good week, so here I go, talking about the young Aussie.

Again.

Hemsworth is starring in this new movie Empire State that is reportedly now going straight to DVD for some reason – even though it co-stars Dwayne Johnson.

Odd, huh.

I mean, Johnson just keeps on scoring big (his latest, Fast & Furious 6, was undisputably huge) and Hemsworth is carrying his first movie, Paranoia, later this summer.

You would think the powers that be would wanna ride up on that momentum, but I guess they’re not feeling super-confident in the story of two childhood friends (Hemsworth and Michael Arangano) who, as grown young men struggling to make ends meet, plan to rob an armored car depository, incurring the wrath of members of both sides of the law (The Rock plays the NYPD officer hot on their trail).

Oh, Hollywood – ya so weird sometimes.

Empire State drops on Sept. 3.
