It was announced today that, a little more than a year after he began popping up on ABC’s Good Morning America, Michael Strahan (pictured here with Hillary Clinton and Ripa) is making the move permanent and leaving Live! With Kelly and Michael.
That’s right: After four years on the job, Strahan is peacing out on Ripa to co-anchor GMA beginning this fall.

Update 1: After skipping the show on April 20, it was announced that Ripa will not be back on Live! With Kelly and Michael until at least April 26.
Ripa reportedly is not happy with the way ABC handled the Strahan departure announcement.
Chief among her concerns? Being among the last to know her partner was abandoning her, for all intents and purposes.
Update 2: Oh shoot. Kelly Ripa better watch her back, her front, and her sides.
