Looks like Kate Beckinsale has found herself a(nother) meaty role worthy of her talent, and said role has found itself an actress cheeky enough to take it to a whole new level.
The Broadcast Film Critics Association Award-nominated actress will soon be seen in Love & Friendship, Academy Award nominee Whit Stillman’s adaptation of Lady Susan, the epistolary short novel by Jane Austen, about a widow scheming to land herself and her daughter a couple of husbands.
The delightful-looking comedy of manners reunites Beckinsale with ChloĆ« Sevigny, with whom she co-starred in Stillman’s The Last Days of Disco, and features up-and-comer Morfydd Clark, Adore’s Xavier Samuel, and Stephen Fry.
The Sundance-approved film is scheduled to open the 59th Annual San Francisco International Film Festival later this month and open in select theaters on May 13 – and I am so looking forward to seeing Beckinsale shine in this one.
She doesn’t often get the chance to, y’ know.
