See, earlier this year, word on the street had it that the former MMA star – who made her screen acting debut with Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire – would be cameoing in Man of Steel as that most famous Amazon of ’em all.
Which did not happen.
Not that it doesn’t make total sense that that bit of (stunt) casting didn’t come to be: Girlfriend ain’t the strongest actress, and she and Henry Cavill did break up around the time blockbuster was released.
Now, though, comes the news that three different actresses are in the running to play Wonder Woman, a.k.a. Diana Prince, in the Man of Steel sequel that is scheduled to bring Superman and a Batman played by Ben Affleck to theaters in July 2015.
There’s Carano’s Fast & Furious 6 co-star Gal Gadot. Olga Kurylenko from Oblivion. And G.I. Joe: Retaliation’s Elodie Yung.
All three are said to have auditioned for the highly coveted role. But that’s all that’s available as far as information right now, so I’ll guess we’ll just have to wait and see what shakes on this one.
