Are you ready for Labor Day, people?
Wait – what? Silly rabbit, Thanksgiving is coming, not Labor Day.
Well, ergo the italics.
I’m talkin’ about Jason Reitman’s upcoming adaptation of the Joyce Maynard novel about a lonesome mother (Kate Winslet), her 13-year-old son, and the escaped convicted murderer (Josh Brolin) they take in, and with whom the pair forms and unlikely new family.
Dylan Minnette (TV’s Lost) and Tobey Maguire co-star, as the younger and older version of Winslet’s son, as do Clark Gregg (TV’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and James Van Der Beek.
Labor Day will open in key markets on Dec. 31, right on time for awards consideration, then expand by next Jan. 31.
