The powers that be just may have found Reese Witherspoon’s next husband.

For a big-screen project, natch.

Up-and-comer Thomas Sadoski (HBO’s The Newsroom) is thisclose to nabbing the part of Witherspoon’s still-caring ex in Wild, a chronicle of a woman’s 1,100-mile journey of self-discovery to be directed by Dallas Buyers Club’s Jean-Marc Vallée.

Production on Wild is set to commence this fall.
