In case you were wondering, the Oscar race officially began a couple of days ago, if memory serves, when Jeff Nichols’ Mud, the showed-strong indie starring Tye Sheridan, Matthew McConaughey, and Reese Witherspoon became the first film of 2013 sent out to Academy Awards voters for their consideration.
