With the once-considerable buzz surrounding Diana, the Naomi Watts starring vehicle of the season, considerably diminished post-Toronto International Film Festival, it is time to turn our attention to Nicole Kidman’s Grace of Monaco.
The film, which was directed by La Vie en Rose’s Olivier Dahan, promises to be a lavish account of the American actress-turned-European monarch’s glamorous life and untimely death.
Grace of Monaco will focus specifically in the early-’60s era of the princess’ life, a turbulent time in which she was already established in Monaco following her marriage to Prince Rainier III (Tim Roth) and her people were turning to her for guidance as the principality and France found themselves at odds over some tax law reform.
Check out the first teaser for the film, and set a reminder for Nov. 27, for that is when it will start to come out.

Update: Well, this is a change.
Grace of Monaco is out of the running for gold this awards season now that its release date has been shifted to some time next spring.
