It’s just as well Will Smith did not feel the Brilliance.
’Cause Jared Leto might be.
The recent Oscar winner reportedly is circling the adaptation of the Marcus Sakey novel by that name, the story of a world inhabited by a small number of “brilliants” (meaning folks with extraordinary abilities) and how one of them – a federal agent the Dallas Buyers Club star would play – must track down another man who wants to use his powers to start a war.
Given the fact that Leto is beyond-fastidious about the films he says yes to, this is kind of a big deal.
Especially because this Sakey book, I understand, is the first of a trilogy.

Update: Yeah, not so fast.
Evidently, Leto also has passed on the project.
’Cause, rumor has it, he might be more into getting into the Marvel business and doing the Doctor Strange movie that was announced earlier this month.
