That is, whether that most darling and stylish of recent Academy Award winners, Lupita Nyong’o, would venture into a galaxy far, far away with the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.
And now the answer is a resounding yes.
Nyong’o has been officially cast in the J.J. Abrams-directed joint – as has Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie.
Of course, no details about either actress’ role were shared in yesterday’s announcement, which, while welcomed, totally dashed my hope that, when the time comes to moviefy that character, Marvel would make Black Panther a female and hand the 12 Years a Slave breakout the part.
Can’t win ’em all.
