Wait. Hold up. Matt Lauer’s still on the Today show? Hard to believe, considering every time I tuned in the past six months it was Willie Geist I saw.
Either way, it was announced late last week that Lauer has extended his contract with NBC, after a reportedly quick negotiation (worth millions, I bet), and will be there in the morning for at least another couple of years.
The new deal will take the guy into his 20th year on the show, which he calls, “the best job in broadcasting.”
I’ll say.
