Rooney Mara and director David Fincher are finally looking to work together again.
No, not on The Girl Who Played with Fire, unfortunately.
Fincher and Mara are circling the in-the-works adaptation of Jason Matthews’ 2013 novel Red Sparrow, a story set in modern-day Russia about a Russian intelligence officer (Mara) coping with a post-Soviet Union world...and with being ordered to become a Sparrow (that is, a sexpionage expert) in order to spy on the CIA officer handling the agency’s most valuable Russian mole.
Academy Award-nominated American Hustle writer Eric Warren Singer will be handling the script.
