Now that awards season is in full swing, you can so expect this sort of post to become a daily occurrence.
Earlier this week, we got word of the picks for the best of the best from the Gotham Awards and New York critics, and, now, it is high time we turn our attention to that which the National Board of Review thinks we should.
Like, Spike Jonze’s Joaquin Phoenix-in-love-with-ScarJo-as-an-irresistible-OS-story Her, which was named the Best Film of 2013 today, with Jonze taking Best Director.
Acting-wise, Bruce Dern, Emma Thompson, Will Forte, and Octavia Spencer were singled out for their performances in Nebraska, Saving Mr. Banks, Nebraska, and Fruitvale Station, respectively.
