From Clueless to The Object of My Affection to Wet Hot American Summer to TV’s Friends and Parks and Recreation to I Love You, Man to This Is 40 to, of course, this weekend’s Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, the guy is a star.
And he is about to become a kind of a bigger deal.
After some speculation, Marvel has confirmed that it has chosen Rudd to star as Dr. Henry Pym in its long-gestating Edgar Wright-directed Ant-Man movie, which is due out in July 2015.
How he will tie up with James Spader’s Ultron remains TBA. Although he probably will not, since The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for a May 2015 release.
You see, Ultron, if memory serves, is a sentient, power-hungry robot created by Dr. Pym in the comics. Given that Ant-Man will come out after the Avengers sequel, the rumor that Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark will be responsible for Ultron just got a big ol’ boost.
