R.I.P. Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela has died.

The iconic anti-apartheid revolutionary, human rights advocate, and former South African president was 95.

Mandela had been in ill health since last summer. I think it was back in June that Madiba was hospitalized for a recurring lung infection.

“Our nation has lost its greatest son. Our people have lost a father,” South African President Jacob Zuma said after the news of Mandela’s passing broke yesterday afternoon. “What made Nelson Mandela great was precisely what made him human.

“We saw in him what we seek in ourselves.”

Here’s to Tata. He did good.

And may the world continue to triumph over fear in his honor.
