Sicario, one of the best films of 2015, is getting a sequel – and neither director Denis Villeneuve nor star Emily Blunt is expected back for it.
Which boggles my mind.
But, I mean, Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin are all for it, so there you go.
Makes sense, since the project’s titled Soldado and meant to focus on Del Toro’s character, the shadowy hitman so central to the first one, and on Brolin’s by-any-means-necessary CIA agent.
Actor/writer Taylor Sheridan – who scripted Sicario – is behind the story once again, so, at least, the quality of the story of Soldado will be like, there, knowwhatImean.
Italian helmer Stefano Sollima (Gomorrah) is expected to call the shots as director.
