Marvel is said to be looking at Academy Award winner Brie Larson (Room) to fill the shoes of Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel.
See, here I was hoping they would make the character a little older so she could instantly becoming a leader of the pack, pull a Robert Downey Jr.
But no one did ask me.
Anyway. A search for a director to helm Captain Marvel – the story of an Air Force pilot whose DNA fuses with an alien’s during an accident, thus imbuing her with super-strength, energy projection, and flight – is ongoing.
The project, though, is pretty much ready to go behind the scenes, for a script has been completed, by two talented women, no less: Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman and Inside Out Oscar nomiee Meg LeFeuve. (Not that the writers’ gender should come as any type of a surprise....)
