The Show Must Go On...With or Without Bono

So yesterday was World AIDS Day, right.

The lot of U2 were supposed to perform at this World AIDS Day (RED) concert in Times Square last night, but since Bono hurt himself last month while riding his bike, a bunch of A-List subs were called upon to fill in for the band’s frontman.

Among ’em? The Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen and Coldplay’s Chris Martin. Kanye West and Carrie Underwood also took to the stage.

Bill Clinton officially opened the show, which was announced a mere hours before it was scheduled to go down and which, the president said on Bono’s behalf, could not have happened 26 years ago because, “to be diagnosed with AIDS was a death sentence.

“But this year, for the first time ever, more people were put on life-saving medicine than were diagnosed with AIDS. We are going to win this fight.”

Keep that in mind, people.

You can watch the concert now:

And remember to protect yourself. To be kind. And to end the stigma.
