Matthew McConaughey may be getting serious again (The Lincoln Lawyer is Exhibit A), but his next project is potentially allowing for some levity.The actor is eyeing the starring role in Mud, the new project from writer-director Jeff Nichols (who drew attention at Cannes earlier this summer with Take Shelter), playing a fugitive who befriends a 14-year-old (The Tree of Life’s Tye Sheridan) as he embarks on a dangerous trek with the hope of reuniting with the love of his life.
Reese Witherspoon would play the object of his affection, Juniper.
