Foot-Country-Loose

The powers that be remaking Footloose are super-smart.

Not only are they sticking closely to the original, plot-wise, with their Oct. 14 release starring newcomer Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough, they are taking the movie’s soundtrack down the country route.

Blake Shelton will be singing the title track originally covered by Kenny Loggins, while Zac Brown, Big & Rich (feat. Gretchen Wilson), and the Smashing Pumpkins will be contributing other songs as well.

Jana Kramer, meanwhile, will be taking on “Let’s Hear It for the Boy.”
