Paul Rudd is taking a break from comedy – I think – to star in an untitled film based on a 2008 This America Life story about the cryogenics craze of the ’60s.
The actor will play a TV repairman who started his own (disastrous) cryo-operation in Southern California, freezing dead folks with the hope that science catch-up to his wishful thinking of one day reviving them.
Zach Helm (Stranger Than Fiction) is writing the screenplay – in collaboration with This American Life’s Ira Glass – which documentarian Errol Morris will direct.
