And the rumor becomes official: Madonna will tour again this summer.

With a quite simple “The rumors are true! Madonna will tour Europe this summer. Stay tuned for details later this week,” the Queen of Pop announced today that she will hit the road again later this year, presumably with a continuation of her smashingly successful “Sticky & Sweet Tour.”

Since she so can, M-dolla must want to recoup some of the settlement money from her said-to-have-been-rather-expensive divorce.

Update: The dates are in, and hey, Madonna, you’re not itching to get “Sticky & Sweet” again because, say, Celine Dion is raking in the dough, are you?

“This is a first for me,” said the Queen of Pop. “I’ve never extended a tour before. I’m excited to be going back on the road, visiting places I’ve never been and returning to places I love.”

The tour’s second leg will take M to Werchter Belgium, Marseille France, Hamburg Germany, Oslo Norway, Helsinki Finland, Tallinn Estonia, Ljubljana Slovenia as well as stops in Romania, Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria it was confirmed today by Live Nation. Additional appearances by Madonna will include return visits after more than 15 years to Madrid, Gothenburg and Munich.
