The Directors’ Say

The Directors Guild of America has nominated Danny Boyle, David Fincher, Ron Howard (pictured on set at right, in the middle), Christopher Nolan, and Gus Van Sant as its five contenders for Best Director of the year that was.

The DGA’s list matches the Producers Guild of America’s nominations of Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Howard’s Frost/Nixon, Nolan’s The Dark Knight, and Van Sant’s Milk for Best Picture – which means this year’s Oscar race has turned…predictable.

But here’s a surprise (not!): I’ve got to watch Frost/Nixon. Still.
