Call them Cargregor.
The 2009 Sundance Film Festival is currently underway, and one of the movies to have had its premiere there over the weekend was I Love You Phillip Morris, starring Jim Carrey, Ewan McGregor, and Rodrigo Santoro.
Less of a comedy than a hilarious tragedy, says Variety, I Love You Phillip Morris stars Carrey in his most complicated comedic role since The Cable Guy and as a character so criminal and gay it will leave people both laughing and stunned.
Loves it already.
The rawness of the script by directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (the writers of Bad Santa) and sexual bluntness of Carrey and McGregor’s on-screen rapport could limit the movie’s exposure, the magazine goes on to say, but curiosity about Carrey’s “conversion” will be a big draw.
I Love You Phillip Morris is due out later this year. Can you wait that long?
