The Angels to Soar Again?

While promoting the upcoming He’s Just Not That Into You, Drew Barrymore answered the question I’ve been dying to ask her: Will there be a third Charlie’s Angels movie?

“I’m into it,” she said of the franchise she kicked off earlier this decade. “I’m so into it – Charlie’s Angels III!"

“It’s percolating up,” said Nancy Juvonen, Barrymore’s Flower Films producing partner. “It’s rising to the surface.”

Barrymore added, “They’re hard movies to make, but they’re fun.”

The franchise has grossed $544 million worldwide. I think it’s time they add to that tally.

Ideas are being kicked around, including the possible introduction of a fourth Angel. For the threequel, Barrymore and Juvonen are said to be looking to feature a bad boy. (The first movie had Sam Rockwell, the sequel had Demi Moore.)

If I may make a suggestion, how about having a bad couple, like, say, David Boreanaz and Sarah Michelle Gellar. As Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans know, they have crazy chemistry, and they could play off each other quite well.

As for a younger (although old-looking) fourth Angel, how about Lindsay Lohan? She could make her comeback with this one.

I’ve always thought if La Lohan hadn’t been so wrapped up in her own shenanigans she would’ve been perfect for Transformers. Megan Fox, whom people in the blogosphere have all but cast in the possible Charlie’s Angels III, is sooo...one note. She’s the poor man’s L2, and she only squeezed by because the Lohan train wrecked, I think.
