After years of standing his ground, Matt Damon is finally getting what he wants, and thus giving audiences what they really want.
A new Jason Bourne movie featuring Jason Bourne.
Once Damon and director Paul Greengrass (both pictured here with Julia Stiles) brought the original trilogy of movies featuring the character to a close with 2007’s The Bourne Ultimatum, everybody involved with the franchise under the Hollywood sun clamored for a fourth movie. Instead they got The Bourne Legacy starring Jeremy Renner, which was OK (and OK enough to merit a sequel).
Damon was clear he would not revisit Jason Bourne without his helmer, who wasn’t keen to explore any more of the character’s since, you know, the amnesiac super-spy had regained his memories and all. Now, though, everyone involved – chief among them Greengrass – has cracked a new drama-and-action-filled story to tell.
And they plan on telling it.
Welcome back, you guys!
